Who we are

What we collect
- Identification & contact data (name, email, phone, address, date of birth, government ID).
- Tax data (W‑2, 1099, 1098, K‑1, prior returns, SSN/ITIN, income/expense records).
- Payment information (handled by our payment processor; we do not store full card numbers).
- Portal data (account credentials, activity logs, IP, device, and cookie data for security).
How we use information
- Prepare and file federal and state tax returns; provide bookkeeping and payroll services.
- Verify identity, prevent fraud, and maintain security.
- Communicate about engagements, deadlines, and filings.
- Comply with legal obligations and IRS rules.
Use of “tax return information” is governed by IRC §7216 and IRS Publication 1345. We only use or disclose such information as permitted by law or with your signed consent(s).
Legal bases & consent
We process data to perform our contract with you, comply with law, and for legitimate interests such as security. For any uses or disclosures of tax return information beyond what the law permits, we will request your signed Consent to Use and/or Consent to Disclose as required by IRC §7216. You may decline or withdraw such consent at any time.
Data retention
We retain records for as long as necessary to provide services, meet legal/IRS retention obligations, and resolve disputes. Copies of signed IRC §7216 consents are retained for at least four (4) years.
Security
- HTTPS in transit; encryption at rest for stored files and databases.
- Role‑based access and multi‑factor authentication for staff.
- Audit logs for access and changes to client data.
- Written Information Security Program (WISP) aligned with the FTC Safeguards Rule (GLBA).
No system is perfectly secure. You can help by using a strong, unique password and enabling MFA where available.
Cookies & tracking
We use essential cookies to operate the site and secure the client portal. We may use limited analytics to understand performance. You can control cookies in your browser settings.
Your choices
- You can request access, correction, or deletion where applicable.
- You can withdraw marketing preferences at any time.
- For tax return information subject to IRC §7216, we will provide copies of any signed consents upon request.
Children
Our services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child provided data, contact us to remove it.
Breach notification
If we discover a data incident involving your information, we will investigate and notify you and, where required, regulators as soon as practicable and generally within 30 days, subject to law‑enforcement or legal constraints.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date above and post the new version at this URL.
